Disciplinary cases for 2009 season

A list of disciplinary cases for the 2009 season has been published by Jim Mitchell, disciplinary chairman of the Norfolk Cricket Board and the Norfolk Alliance. Publication of these decisions is an important part of showing that standards are being upheld and reported incidents will be investigated and dealt with.

Jim said: "Unfortunately, incidents of misbehaviour on the pitch did increase this year. Self-control was sadly lacking. We had to deal with cases of dissent, foul and abusive language, aggressive behaviour and intimidation." He reminded captains and players of their responsibility to uphold the Spirit of Cricket and to show respect for their opponents.Jim continued: "This is the first year that we have put the onus on clubs to carry out their own enquiries and take action where necessary, using the NCB's disciplinary tariff as a guide."We're grateful to the clubs for their co-operation. On the whole the new disciplinary system seems to be working reasonably well."
