Lowestoft youngsters' clean sweep

Lowestoft, Fakenham and Swardeston-CEYMS were the winners in this year's Frankly Digital Norfolk Alliance junior finals.

In the Andy Seeley Under-15 Trophy, held at Great Melton last Wednesday, Lowestoft beat Garboldisham by seven wickets. Garboldisham were all out for 111 in the 40-over contest, before Lowestoft cruised to victory. Josh McAvoy was man of the match after starring with bat and ball for the victors. 

It completed a clean sweep for this crop of Lowestoft juniors, who won the U11 competition three years ago and claimed the U13 trophy last year.

U15 Runners up: Garboldisham


U15 Man of the Match: Josh McAvoy

Fakenham beat Horsford by 79 runs in the Allan Bridgwater U13 Trophy at Hilltops on Sunday. Thomas Hill top scored with 18 in Fakenham's innings, before left-arm slow bowler Charlie Reed picked up man of the match honours with a spell of six wickets for four runs in four overs.

U13 Runners up: Horsford

Later in the day, Swardeston-CEYMS were triumphant in the Terry Moore U11 Trophy, beating Fakenham by 33 runs. Alfie Cooper hit 24 for Swardeston, before Fakenham's Henry Thornton replied with 23, but the key contribution came from Swardeston's William Findlay, who took five for five, including a hat-trick.
