Promoted teams confirmed
Runners-up Aldborough will join Lucas Fettes Norfolk League champions Hardingham in the Norfolk Alliance next season.
Both teams will play in Alliance Division Four as part of an agreement with the Norfolk Cricket Board and the feeder leagues to avoid mismatched cricket.
Aldborough have been accepted into the Alliance despite finishing as runners-up because West Norfolk League champions Grimston were unable to step up.
To meet Alliance facilities requirements, Aldborough will be playing their home games at Holt in a ground-sharing arrangement. The move is similar to that of Hales, who have played at Postwick - home of Norwich CC - for the past two years.
No Alliance teams will be relegated to the feeder leagues. This is because the Alliance finished the 2009 season two teams short - East Harling dropped out of Division Three before the season started and Hunstanton were unable to fulfil their fixtures, also in Division Three.
In addition, it had already been agreed that no teams would be relegated from Division Three. The two promoted clubs bring the total number of Alliance teams back up to 70, with 10 teams in each division.
The decision could not be announced at the Alliance end of season meeting as 30 September is the deadline for settling any issues affecting next year's fixtures, such as facilities and ground availability.
