Rule changes agreed at AGM

Longer matches in Division One and stricter leg-side wides in Divisions Two and Three were among the rule changes agreed at the Alliance annual general meeting held on 17 February 2010 at Swardeston.

A number of changes based on previous consultation with clubs were voted through en bloc:

  • 50-overs-a-side matches extended to Division One.
  • New ECB junior age restriction: you must be U13 age group or older to play Alliance adult cricket.
  • Stricter leg-side wides extended to Divisions Two and Three.
  • Neutral umpires/captains to judge finishing time in interrupted matches, otherwise 8.30pm.
  • Adjusted batting totals for bonus points in matches of less than 40 overs.
  • Improvements to the NCB
